Kenny Omega isn’t cleared to train, but the feeling is that he’ll be back.
When Kenny Omega was rushed into hospital with diverticulitis last December, many feared for the future of his in-ring career. However, when he returned to AEW Dynamite at the beginning of May, many had renewed hope that ‘The Cleaner’ could be further along the recovery process than initially thought. Now, there has been an update on the general feeling regarding Omega’s future.
Per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Omega is believed to be doing better, and there is a belief that his career isn’t over following his diverticulitis diagnosis last year.
“Regarding Kenny Omega, we haven’t heard anything new past he’s doing better and while we don’t have any kind of a date for him returning, the feeling right now is that he will be returning and his career isn’t over. He hasn’t been cleared to start any training yet.”

Kenny’s health is, of course, the most important factor in the decision over his in-ring future, but there’s no doubting that it will come as good news to fans that his career may not be over. We continue to wish Omega well and hope to see him back in the ring if he is medically able to return down the road.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Kenny Omega’s in-ring future as soon as we hear more.
