John Cena may have a role to play at WrestleMania.
During last year’s Hollywood strike, John Cena made a return to WWE. The 16-time world champion was present in the company throughout the Autumn of 2023 and was most notably seen on the receiving end of a dominant defeat at the hands of Solo Sikoa at Crown Jewel. Since the strike ended, Cena hasn’t been featured on WWE programming.
However, per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s believed that there is talk over Cena’s involvement in WrestleMania 40. It’s noted that anything he would do at the show would be fun and memorable.
Cena will soon be filming a second season of “Peacemaker.” There has been some talk about Cena at Mania. It’s basically up to his acting schedule and if there is something going on. If there is, he may appear but couldn’t do anything that would be deemed a risk. We were told that if he does appear, the idea is to do something fun, short and memorable and with substance

Any idea of what Cena would do at the Show of Shows isn’t clear, but a short appearance at ‘Mania is something he has done before, such as in 2019 when he donned his ‘Basic Thuganomics’ gear during a segment with Elias. Last year, he competed in a losing effort against Austin Theory.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on John Cena’s WrestleMania status as soon as we hear more.
