An update has emerged on Ricky Starks’ ring name following his NXT debut.

On February 11, just one day after it was first reported that Ricky Starks had left AEW and was free to go elsewhere, he surprised fans by showing up on WWE NXT. The 34-year-old said arrived through the crowd and said he was there to turn the brand upside down, but it was notable that neither he nor the broadcast team actually said Starks’ name on the show, prompting many to wonder whether WWE were possibly changing his name.

Per PWInsider, it’s believed that, after officially signing with WWE, the former AEW star has been added to the internal NXT roster under his Starks name, although it could still change.

“Ricky Starks has officially signed with WWE. He has been internally added to the NXT roster under the Starks ring name, but that could always change should WWE give him another identity.”

As yet, it’s unclear whether WWE are planning a name change, but it will come as good news to those who want him to keep the ‘Ricky Starks’ name that he’s been listed under his usual alias on the internal roster. With his debut being so sudden, it’ll certainly be interesting to see whether the company make any reference to his name in the coming weeks.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the presentation of Ricky Starks in NXT as soon as we hear more.
