Ridge Holland’s WWE contract was reportedly ‘NXT money’.

On October 13, Ridge Holland took to social media to announce that WWE won’t be renewing his contract when it comes up next month. The Brit had been with the company since 2018 and has a wealth of main roster experience, including participating in the 2022 War Games match at Survivor Series. However, he’d been mainly featured on the NXT brand since December 2023, and his details on his contract have now been clarified.

Per Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio, it’s believed that Ridge Holland was making ‘NXT money’ as opposed to being on a main roster contract.

“With Ridge Holland, I know people have been saying he was making main roster money but he wasn’t. When they sent him back to NXT and he was there for years, I think, couple of years at least, he was making NXT money. He was not making main roster money anymore. So it’s not like he’s making some giant main roster contract. He was making NXT money and they won’t even pay that during the time that he’s out with this injury.”

The 37-year-old will depart WWE will his last match actually having come under the TNA banner. On the September 27 set of tapings, Holland unfortunately sustained an injury during a dark match with Moose which will sideline him for quite some time. Despite being let go, he did confirm that WWE were covering the cost of his treatment, though he’s unable to return to the ring for at least another six months.

One of the highlights of Ridge’s NXT run was when he captured the brand’s tag team championships alongside Andre Chase as part of Chase U, later turning on the group and forcing them to disband.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Ridge Holland’s WWE departure as soon as we hear more.
