ROH could be approaching a turning point.
Since being acquired by Tony Khan in March 2022, questions have been asked about the brand’s long-term future in regards to both media rights negotiations and the identity of the show as a whole, with the week-to-week programming on Honor Club often receiving criticism for a lack of creative focus, despite the quality of their pay-per-view events.
However, in an update that fans of the brand will likely find promising, Fightful Select are reporting that following the most recent set of tapings in Arlington, Texas, Ring of Honor is set to have more care given to it moving forward, with dedicated tapings being a potential turning point in terms of creative consistency.
“In recent weeks, Fightful Select has inquired about the future of Ring of Honor, whether it be generally, or as it relates to AEW’s upcoming media rights deal. At least in the short term, we’re told that ROH is likely to have more care given to it. The upcoming Arlington tapings were pointed to as what could be a turning point, as the brand is getting dedicated taping shows. What one source told Fightful is that this should lead to at least more consistent creative in that sense, as numerous shows will be filmed across one day, as opposed to the show being filmed weekly before or after Dynamite or Collision.”

Additionally, MxM’s recent signing being ROH-specific is another promising sign of the attention the brand could be set to receive, whilst Fightful also noted that, after enquiring, it appears with the upcoming tapings as though ROH’s title holders are set to appear more frequently for the promotion.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on future plans for Ring of Honor as soon as we hear more.
