We are reportedly not far away from learning more details about Rossy Ogawa’s new promotion.

Shortly after Bushiroad shocked the wrestling world by announcing the termination of Rossy Ogawa’s contract, it came out that the 66-year-old was planning to start a new joshi promotion. This was aided by the news that some STARDOM talent had contracts that expired in March and five wrestlers (Utami Hayashishita, Mai Sakurai, Giulia, MIRAI and Yuzuki) were later confirmed to be leaving. However, not much else was known about the new company.

To provide an update on this, Dave Meltzer has written in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Rossy has been working on deals and that more details on his new company should be a few weeks away.

“Ogawa has been working on deals and the first announcements regarding the promotion should be coming in a few weeks.”

Given that Rossy Ogawa and Giulia have both been spotted in Philadelphia in recent days, many have been wondering whether there will be a partnership between the new company and WWE. On this, it’s specified by Meltzer that there is currently no deal between Rossy and WWE, though they are expected to hold talks soon.

“Right now there is no deal between Ogawa and WWE, but they are expected to be talking.

Given that murmurings of Rossy Ogawa’s new company surfaced in February, fans have been clamouring for official information on a possible promotion for many months now. Luckily, it seems as if we won’t have to wait long to find out more about Ogawa’s company and a potential deal with WWE.

Elsewhere in the Observer, Meltzer noted that Giulia’s recent arrival in Pro Wrestling NOAH during this week’s Monday Magic show, where she announced that she’d be competing at their Sumo Hall show on May 4th, is part of the build for Ogawa’s new promotion.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Rossy Ogawa’s new promotion and a potential deal with WWE as soon as we hear more.
