Rumour Killer On Santos Escobar Being Moved To WWE’S Alumni Section

Santos Escobar is still with WWE.

Earlier today, Ringside News reported that Santos Escobar had quietly been moved to the alumni section of WWE’s roster page, prompting speculation that his second spell with the company may have come to an end.

However, BodySlam are now reporting that the aforementioned report is incorrect, with Santos Escobar simply never having been moved back to WWE’s active roster page following his return to the company.

“Sources indicate to Bodyslam that Escobar is still with WWE and expected to continue in a program with El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. for the AAA Latin American Championship on AAA TV. Escobar has been in the alumni section since his contract expired back in October before re-signing with WWE a day later. WWE’s social team just never moved him back to the active roster page.”

Santos Escobar’s WWE contract expired on October 7, 2025, with the former NXT Cruiserweight Champion set to leave the promotion. However, he was reported to have re-signed with WWE the following day and ultimately made his return on AAA on Fox on January 17.

Last night’s Rey de Reyes event saw El Grande Americano defeat Santos Escobar, La Parka, and ‘The Original’ El Grande Americano to win the Rey de Reyes 2026 Final Four Way.
