Santos Escobar is back with WWE.
On October 7, Santos Escobar became a free agent after his WWE contract expired and he declined to re-sign. Despite suggestions AEW could have been a destination, he now appears set to return to WWE just one day after entering free agency.
According to PWInsider Elite, Santos Escobar has reached an agreement on a new deal with WWE, with the company reportedly offering a significantly higher contract than previous attempts to retain him.
“WWE and Santos Escobar have come to terms on a new deal and he is back with the promotion. It was said that WWE management considered Escobar’s creative concerns and made him a sizeably larger offer than any of their previous overtures. The belief is they came to an agreement late yesterday. There is no word when Escobar will be back on the road, but he’s signed with the company once again.”

WWE’s utilisation of Escobar had waned recently, with the 41-year-old making just seven in-ring appearances so far this year. Now that he’s back with the company, focus turns to when and how he will be reintegrated, especially given that creative plans were reportedly a major factor in his initial decision to depart.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Santos Escobar re-signing with WWE as soon as we hear more.
