Saraya is leaving AEW.
Having made her All Elite Wrestling debut at Grand Slam 2022, Saraya has had a relatively successful stint in AEW and is a former Women’s World Champion. However, when asked if she wanted to wrestle Mercedes Moné again, the Brit raised eyebrows by suggesting that she may not be in the company by the time the chance to have the match came round. Now, it’s emerged that her time with AEW has come to an end.
As first reported by Entertainment Weekly, Saraya is set to announce her All Elite Wrestling exit on her Rulebreakers With Saraya podcast, debuting Thursday.
“I’m here to tell you that me and AEW’s relationship has come to an end. I had an amazing time there. There’s no bad blood between us. I had such a magical time.”
-Saraya
The 32-year-old has been the midst of time off from AEW, and, in this time, she thought about how she may not fit in with the current landscape of the company.
“And then I got to thinking — what is there left for me to do in wrestling right now? Right now, there’s really no storylines where I would fit in. I feel like I might be taking someone else’s spot, someone who could be doing something really special,”
-Saraya
Saraya was keen to not rule out a return to All Elite Wrestling in future, and was sure to thank everyone from Tony Khan to the AEW fans for her time there. For now, her future is unclear, although the star recently said that she would be open to returning to WWE if there was an opportunity to do something fun.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Saraya’s exit from AEW as soon as we hear more.
