Scorpio Sky defeated Sammy Guevara for the TNT Championship on Wednesday night to win his first singles title in All Elite Wrestling.
Scorpio Sky’s TNT title win has now made him the only person in AEW to have won the TNT Championship and also the AEW Tag Team Championships.
According to a new report by Fightful Select, Sky’s TNT championship win was always the plan, as was much of the titles recent lineage
Fightful Select learned that the title win had been planned as far back as late 2021. We’re told that the Cody Rhodes departure caused a “minimal” hiccup, but that a lot of what happened still went as planned.
In addition to that, when Miro was still AEW TNT Champion, Fightful learned word that Sammy Guevara would win the championship, lose it to Cody Rhodes, then regain it.

Scorpio Sky will be defending his newly won title next week vs Wardlow. A match some fans think Wardlow may just win, making Sky’s run a short one. However, there is always the MJF factor lingering over everything Wardlow to consider.
