The WWE World Heavyweight Champion appears to have suffered a legitimate injury.
Last night’s episode of Monday Night RAW saw Seth Rollins defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal in the main event. Rollins would emerge from the bout with his reign intact, however, according to new reports, he may have suffered a legitimate injury in the process.
PWTorch reported shortly after RAW went off the air that Rollins had suffered an injury to his left leg during the main event. Additionally, Rollins is said to be walking on his own, although further evaluation is required.
“Seth Rollins suffered a legitimate injury to his left leg late in his Raw main event win against Jinder Mahal. Multiple PWTorch sources backstage at Raw say that he was helped in the back and eventually put weight on it. He is walking on his own, but with a definite limp. He will be further evaluated to determine the severity of the injury.”

It wasn’t clear where Seth sustained the injury, but he did noticably begin to favour his right leg following a dive to ringside. Whilst there is the possibility that Rollins sustained further damage by wrestling past the initial injury, it is a positive sign that he was able to see out the the remainder of the bout.
Seth appeared worried as RAW came to a close and stood on one leg as the referee presented him with his WWE World Heavyweight Title, although the report also notes that multiple sources described him as as neither overtly pessimistic nor optimistic about the severity of the injury.
During the most recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer provided an additional update on injury, revealing that Rollins is set for an MRI scan to discover the extent of his injury.
“I just know he (Seth Rollins)’s getting an MRI and then we’ll find out (how bad his injury is). Basically I was told it could be something minor, could be something worse. We won’t know until the MRI result comes back.”

Rollins’ current direction heading into WrestleMania 40 appeared to be a highly anticipated clash with CM Punk, and thus, should he require significant time away from the ring, the Chicago-native would likely require a new direction. Furthermore, Rollins may be required to relinquish the WWE World Heavyweight Championship should he be unable to return to the ring before WrestleMania, however this remains as speculation until the extent of his injury becomes clear.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the injury status of Seth Rollins, and we wish him all the best in his recovery.
