Tonga has been heavily rumoured to have signed with WWE.
Since leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling on February 24th after the expiration of his contract, Tama Tonga has been heavily rumoured to be heading to WWE, with various sources claiming that a deal has already been reached between the two parties.
A new report from PWInsiderElite.com is now suggesting that his onscreen arrival could be imminent, as Tama has reportedly been spotted in Detroit, Michigan ahead of tonight’s SmackDown.

The report later confirms that Tonga has indeed signed with WWE, and in speaking to multiple sources after he was spotted in Michigan, PWInsider were told that he will be starting on WWE TV imminently, potentially as soon as tonight.
Tonga is the son of Haku and thus is considered a member of the Anoa’i Family, with Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter having previously noted that the idea of him joining The Bloodline at some point has been considered.
Alternatively, however, the former NEVER Openweight Champion could also align with AJ Styles due to the pair’s history as members of Bullet Club, with Tonga having been a founding member.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of Tama Tonga as soon as we hear more.
