Tatum Paxley says timing is everything in WWE.

Having signed with the WWE back in 2021, Tatum Paxley has had a very gradual rise in NXT. After struggling to build momentum, her storyline with Lyra Valkyria in 2023 allowed fans to get to grips with Paxley’s character, and in the following years she was able to establish herself as one of the main stars of the development brand’s women’s division. Four years after her in-ring debut for the company, the former NXT Women’s Champion has given her view on whether she’s ready for the main roster.

Appearing on Busted Open Radio, Paxley discussed feeling ready for the main roster, though she stressed she’s in no rush after learning that timing is everything.

“1,000% [ready]. But, I am also in zero rush. I’m in no rush to get there. This is something I’ve learned from being in NXT, that timing is everything. My career was a little bit of a slow start, but I would not have wanted that to change at all, especially looking back on it. Now, if you were to go back in time and ask me, I’d be like, ‘Man, I wish this’ and, ‘I wish that.’ But gosh, looking back on it now, timing is everything. I trust in them, the writers and everybody. I trust in them so much that I know when they’re ready to give me the ball and run, I trust their timing. You know, like, ‘Okay, it’s Tatum’s turn. Catch.’ ‘Thanks!’ And I’ll take off. So whenever RAW or SmackDown is ready to toss me that ball, I’m catching it and I’m sprinting.”

Paxley held the NXT Women’s Championship for a little over three weeks following her win over Jacy Jayne at Halloween Havoc 2025. Despite losing the title back to Jayne on November 18, Paxley remained on the hunt for gold, picking up the Women’s North American Championship at this past weekend’s Vengeance Day Premium Live Event.

While many will want to see Tatum make the move to the main roster in the near future, particularly with a possible reunion with Lyra Valkyria on the table, whether a move to RAW or SmackDown materialises remains to be seen.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Tatum Paxley as soon as we hear more.
