The Miz reflects on learning from John Cena.
At present, there are just four dates left on John Cena’s retirement tour. With over two decades of experience in the ring, the 17-time world champion has defined WWE for millions of fans worldwide, and he’s seen the company grow and change during his time on top. Now, a two-time former WWE Champion has looked back on what Cena taught him during his career.
Speaking on Kittle Things, The Miz said Cena has taught him the most during his WWE career.
“Cena taught me the most. He’s like you got to listen to the crowd, I’m like ‘I hear them, I hear them chanting you suck’. He was like ‘you’re not listening, you need to know what to do and when to do it’. There’s no one better at knowing how to get a crowd to do what you want to do whenever you want to do it than John Cena.”

Cena and Miz have had their fair share of battles over the years, but perhaps their most famous is when they met in the main event of WrestleMania 27. On that occasion, it was ‘The A-Lister’ who came out with the win, but the pair would share the ring in a further six singles matches across 2011 and 2012.
Last time out in his retirement tour, John Cena defeated AJ Styles at Crown Jewel in Perth. While any future opponents haven’t been announced, reports have indicated which superstar may be in line to be Cena’s final opponent. You can read more about that here.
When it comes to some of Cena’s most iconic opponents, another name that comes to mind is CM Punk, and the soon-to-be retired star recently expressed that he wishes ‘The Second City Saint’ never took time off from WWE. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on John Cena ahead of his retirement as soon as we hear more.
