‘The Final Boss’ responds to Tom Aspinall.

UFC Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall revealed earlier this week that if he ever stepped into a WWE ring, his dream opponent would be The Rock.

Speaking with Kiss XTRA at the premiere of ‘The Smashing Machine’, The Rock responded to Aspinall’s comments by first joking that he’d ‘rock bottom his candy ass,’ before adding that he believes the UFC star would make a great WWE Superstar.

“There’s one answer as The Rock, which is like, I’ll rock bottom his candy ass. Then there’s the other answer, which is that I love Tom. I got a lot of respect for him. I think he would be a great WWE performer. He’s the kind of guy you just already know that he’s disciplined and committed. He’s a fan, that’s the thing. With the fighters, we’ve had a lot of fighters try to cross into WWE and it’s not always for everybody. Tom would be fun, that would be great. I’d take him, take him to lunch.”

Aspinall, who previously held the Interim UFC Heavyweight Championship, was crowned as the official UFC Heavyweight Champion on June 21 following Jon Jones’ retirement from mixed martial arts.

The Salford native will defend his title against Ciryl Gane at UFC 321 on October 25, taking place at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

With WWE and UFC now both under the TKO banner, a move into sports entertainment could be in the cards for Aspinall once his time in the octagon comes to an end.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the prospect of Tom Aspinall stepping into a WWE ring in the future as soon as we hear more.
