The Rock reportedly won’t be wrestling at WrestleMania 41.
At the end of Bad Blood, the State Farm Arena came unglued for the return of ‘The Final Boss’. It marked The Rock’s first WWE appearance since the night after WrestleMania 40, leading many to theorise about what could be in store for 2025’s ‘Show Of Shows’, however it now seems as if ‘The Great One’ may not be part of the plans for the next WrestleMania.
Per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The Rock isn’t currently scheduled to compete at WrestleMania 40, and it’s believed that he’s already given word to WWE about missing the show.
“However, as of right now, Dwayne Johnson is not scheduled for the show. Obviously that could change and he’s going to do what he wants all the time. While nobody can say it publicly, some with old school mentalities didn’t like the idea that he stole the show and it ‘s not building to a match. “He’s not going to be able to do Mania. He already gave word that he wouldn’t be able to do that match” when asked bout Rock vs. Reigns vs. Rhodes.”

With six months still to go until WrestleMania 41, the situation could certainly still change, and any decision would be made based on whether Rock believes he has the right preparation time to be ready for a big ‘Mania match. With many storyline options presenting themselves, a large portion fans will be desperate for a U-turn from the 52-year-old on his involvement, but, as of now, whether things change remains to be seen.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on The Rock’s WrestleMania status as soon as we hear more.
