Thekla says AEW was the dream.
On the May 28 edition of Dynamite, Thekla made her AEW debut. ‘The Toxic Spider’ immediately made her presence felt amongst the roster by attacking Jamie Hayter, and her position was only solidified further when she joined up with Skye Blue and Julia Hart to form the Triangle Of Madness. Following her successful first few months in the company, Thekla has looked back on being able to fulfil her ambitions.
Speaking on AEW Unrestricted, Thekla recalled watching some of AEW’s first pay-per-views with her friends, saying that making it to the company was the dream.
“I was working in Japan and living there for five years, so being out here, obviously I do enjoy that there is a little bit less of a language barrier so I’ve been able to express myself when it comes to doing promos or talking to my new teammates. Other than that, it’s cool. I love AEW. For those that have been reading interviews and listening to stuff I’ve said before, that was kind of the dream. I was watching some of the first pay-per-views with my friends when I was still a backyarder back where I’m from in Austria. I’d be pointing at the tv like, ‘Guys, give me a couple of years but I’m gonna be on TV.’ Now, my friends from back then, they’ll be watching the pay-per-views and they’ll be like, ‘Yeah, she actually did it!’”

Thekla and her Triangle Of Madness teammates took out AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm on the most recent edition of Collision, with it looking possible that ‘The Toxic Spider’ could be next to challenge for the gold after just four months in the promotion. For now, though, this is unconfirmed.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Thekla as soon as we hear more.
