Some in WWE are reporting wanting big things for Austin Theory.

In October 16’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer surprised fans by reporting that Austin Theory was originally set to team with The Vision and Brock Lesnar in this year’s War Games match. However, after Seth Rollins’ unfortunate injury which has since forced him to relinquish the World Heavyweight Championship, the company’s long-term creative plans for Monday Night RAW have been cast into doubt. Still, a new update suggests people in WWE remain keen on featuring Theory in a major role.

According to a post from WrestleVotes on X, it’s believed there remain those in WWE who are pushing for Austin Theory to be involved in significant creative plans when he reappears on TV.

“There are still voices within WWE pushing to keep Austin Theory involved in creative plans, even after the recent shuffling caused by Seth Rollins’ injury. The idea of Theory joining The Vision was at least discussed, and he still has internal support moving forward to reappear on TV in a significant manner.”

Theory is currently sidelined with an injury of his own, having been out of the ring since mid-July. This caused WWE to drop his tag team with Grayson Waller, who is currently paired with The New Day, so the former United States Champion is free to go down any creative path once he returns.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on WWE’s plans for Austin Theory as soon as we hear more.
