The former AEW Women’s World Champion has reportedly been cleared to return to the ring.
Thunder Rosa has been absent from in-ring action since August 2022 due to a back injury that led to her eventually relinquishing the AEW Women’s World Championship. Despite reports indicating that a return to the ring is close, Rosa remains actively on AEW TV only as a Spanish commentator.
Fightful Select‘s Sean Ross Sapp was recently asked about Rosa’s status during a Q&A, revealing that whilst Rosa is now cleared to compete, she’s still waiting on creative from the company.
“She’s still on the Collision intro, still doing commentary. She’s good to go. She’s been good to go for a while though. Waiting on creative.”

With Rosa having never been beaten for the AEW Women’s World Championship, it’ll be interesting to see how quickly she makes her way back to the top of the division, with Hikaru Shida currently holding the gold.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Thunder Rosa’s AEW return as soon as we hear more.
