More details have emerged regarding WWE’s ID program.
On October 29, WWE officially announced their Independent Development program which is designed to provide a pathway for talent on the independent scene to find their way to the company. So far, eight names have been revealed to be part of WWE ID, with Zayda Steel, Cappuccino Jones and Jack Summit all confirmed to be tied to the program. Now, more has come out about WWE ID, including the involvement of a former NXT name and an update on whether signees can work for other major promotions.
Per Fightful Select, it’s believed that Timothy Thatcher is involved in WWE ID, either as a coach or a trainer.

Also, shortly after the inception of the program, many were wondering whether those under the WWE ID banner would be unable to take bookings in AEW. While details on this is still yet to be solidified, the report notes that some performers that have been signed to a deal have been working for AEW and ROH since coming to terms.
“Many of these deals were solidified quite a while ago, and some of the talent signed or agreed to have already working AEW or ROH dates since starting those talks.”

It’s said that WWE may look to talent on the independent scene that have experience working for a major company to be part of the project, and more reveals are believed to be planned in the near future.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on WWE ID as soon as we hear more.
