TNA Reportedly Attempted To Sell To Tony Khan In 2018

Tony Khan was reportedly offered the chance to buy TNA.

In 2019, Tony Khan shook up the wrestling world with the formation of AEW; the promotion now considered to be second only to WWE across the world. However, a new update suggests Khan almost went down an entirely different path in the industry a year earlier.

While discussing the company’s new partnership with WWE, Dave Meltzer revealed in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that TNA attempting to sell to Tony Khan in 2018.

“TNA did attempt to sell to Tony Khan in 2018 and had talks about a year ago with Scott D’Amore about selling but turned D’Amore offer price down.”

Following this update, many fans will be wondering what things would look like today if Tony Khan had become the owner of TNA in 2018 instead of forming AEW.

In terms of Scott D’Amore’s offer in early 2024, it was reported at the time that his group offered $10 million to acquire the company on top of clearing all debts, though this was ultimately rejected by Anthem Sports & Entertainment.
