TNA Wrestling are seemingly preventing talent from working elsewhere.

With WrestleMania 42 weekend rapidly approaching, talent from across the wrestling world are preparing to descend on Las Vegas. However, the status of several talents from TNA Wrestling now appears to be up in the air.

PWInsider and Fightful Select are now both reporting that former TNA World Champion Moose was originally scheduled to appear at Wrestling Multiverse later this month, although TNA Wrestling have now pulled him from the appearance.

“PWInsider.com has heard from multiple sources that former TNA Champion Moose was set to perform at the Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling Multiverse show on Friday 4/18 but after TNA approved the appearance, there was a change made and Moose has been pulled from the event before MLP could officially announce him. The belief is Moose would have been in the ring with talents from another promotion, likely AEW.”

While Fightful Select notes that TNA Wrestling sources indicated that Moose would be absent from the show due to a scheduling conflict, both reports claim that TNA appear to be shifting their stance on allowing their talent to work for other promotions.

PWInsider claim that rumblings over the past few days suggest TNA Wrestling has had a change of heart about allowing its talent to compete in the ring with wrestlers contracted to other companies. This could have ramifications for talent already announced for shows in Las Vegas across WrestleMania 42 weekend and beyond.

The report goes on to highlight that TNA Wrestling’s change in stance appears to stem from a desire to protect its own talent, particularly on shows streamed live or taped for later release.

“The stories making the rounds is that TNA would not want their talents in the ring with talents from opposing promotions, especially if those events could stream live or be taped for future release. The concern, based on what we are hearing, seems to be centered around the idea that someone could conceivably show TNA talents in a bad light or losing on rival programming.”

PWInsider was unable to confirm whether this policy change came from TNA Wrestling’s broadcast partner AMC or from WWE, with the two promotions now sharing a working relationship.

Another factor to consider is that AEW Collision and TNA Impact! went head-to-head for an hour on Thursday, April 2, with TNA’s usual viewership declining during this period. Fightful Select note that sources close to Carlos Silva, TNA President, said he was unhappy with AEW’s schedule change, which was notably a decision by Warner Bros. Discovery, though AEW appeared pleased by the move.

Beyond Moose’s planned involvement with Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling, several talents from TNA Wrestling are currently scheduled to appear at a number of independent events throughout Las Vegas during WrestleMania 42 weekend and in the coming months.

One match announced that has made waves on social media sees former AEW National Champion Ricochet face TNA X-Division Championship holder Leon Slater, who has made a handful of recent appearances for WWE, at WrestleCon Supershow 2026 on April 16. Elsewhere, Nic Nemeth is set to face AEW World Champion MJF on May 1 at Create A Pro Wrestling Monumental Moment.

According to Fightful Select, there are now fears that both Leon Slater and Nic Nemeth could be pulled from their respective matches, although Nemeth is reported to be pushing to still work with MJF.

“However, now there is fear within the indies  that Leon Slater and Nic Nemeth will be pulled from planned matches with AEW talent, which would result in big changes. Leon Slater vs. Ricochet and Nic Nemeth vs. MJF have been planned for events around the country. Sources familiar with the situation believe that it is heading towards an environment where TNA talent can’t wrestle AEW talent anywhere. Those that we spoke to believe that Nemeth is pushing to remain on the match with MJF.”

The report also notes that TNA’s initial reaction was that Carlos Silva had no issue with TNA talent working Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling shows, although that stance certainly appears to have changed.

Both PWInsider and Fightful Select add that they have reached out to TNA Wrestling and Carlos Silva for comment but have yet to receive a response.

On the topic of Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling, Bishop Dyer recently revealed that money is not currently the driving factor behind his career. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on TNA Wrestling’s policy change regarding talent taking bookings elsewhere as soon as we hear more.
