Tony Khan has discussed Adam Cole being pulled from AEW All In.

At AEW All In Texas, Adam Cole was initially scheduled to defend the TNT Championship in a singles match with Kyle Fletcher. However, before the show, it was announced online that the current champion was medically unable to compete, leading to Cole giving an emotional address to the crowd and having to vacate the title. Now, Tony Khan has recalled the conversation he had with the TNT Champion which brought about the change to Cole’s All In status.

Speaking with Good Karma Wrestling, Khan talked about how he found out that Cole wouldn’t be able to compete in the early hours of Saturday morning, and the pair decided the best thing for him to do would be to explain the situation to to the live audience.

“It was a hard conversation, but I’m glad he told me the truth—that he just didn’t feel well, he was having trouble sleeping, he didn’t feel good, and he was having… just not feeling like it would be a good idea for him to wrestle. And I agreed with that. I knew that it would be the right thing for Adam Cole—and it was what he wanted to do too—to go out and speak to the fans from his heart and explain that he wouldn’t be able to wrestle. Even though we are all sad we don’t get to see Adam Cole wrestle for a while, hopefully he will be able to return in some capacity. But definitely, he needs time off after talking to him.”

Shortly after All In, Fightful Select reported that Adam Cole is dealing with concussions which have cast severe doubt over the 36-year-old’s in-ring future.

As for the title picture, Dustin Rhodes now finds himself as the TNT Champion after defeating Kyle Fletcher, Sammy Guevara and Daniel Garcia for the vacant title in Texas.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Adam Cole’s status as soon as we hear more.
