Jack Perry hasn’t been fired by AEW, but he and Tony Khan are reportedly not on the best of terms.

On August 27, 2023, All Elite Wrestling held All In at Wembley Stadium in what was a historic landmark for the company. However, while the show itself was noteworthy, a lot of the talk heading out of the event was about Jack Perry and CM Punk, who had gotten into a backstage altercation at the stadium. Ultimately, this led to Punk being let go from the company (later to return to WWE), while Perry has been missing from AEW TV for almost seven months.

In the meantime, Jack Perry has appeared for New Japan Pro Wrestling, with the former FTW Champion ripping up his AEW deal on arrival. This has led to speculation over his status with the company, but, per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Perry hasn’t been fired by All Elite Wrestling. Although, it’s noted that Tony Khan is still unhappy with the 26-year-old for the incident which meant he had to fire CM Punk.

“He (Jack Perry) has not been fired. He’s absolutely not been fired, but they’re not using him. Essentially, Tony (Khan)’s really mad at him because he cost him CM Punk. He’s getting the blame. He probably should have been suspended for a month or two. Where are we at, seven months now? Seven months. It’s ridiculous. The punishment doesn’t fit the crime at this point.”

Now donning the nickname ‘The Scapegoat’, Perry has alluded to his AEW absence since coming into New Japan Pro Wrestling. But, given that he only had his first match in Japan earlier this month, it doesn’t seem as if his stint in NJPW will be over any time soon.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Jack Perry’s AEW status as soon as we hear more.
