The investigation into ‘Brawl In’ is still ongoing, Tony Khan claims.

During this past Sunday’s AEW All In event, Fightful Select reported that an incident between CM Punk and Jack Perry had occurred just before the show went live. Said incident was later confirmed by AEW President Tony Khan at the post-show media scrum, despite no names being mentioned, although he did reveal that there was an investigation underway.

During the aforementioned media scrum, Tony Khan was asked whether CM Punk was still set to be a part of their All Out show in Chicago this upcoming Sunday, to which Khan responded, noting that he’s unable to comment until the investigation is concluded.

“We’re still continuing to investigate an incident that happened before All In, I can’t comment any further about it at this time. I appreciate you asking. If I could say more at this moment, I would. I’m still looking into some things. I promise, I’ve always done my best to be honest with the fans. In this situation, I’m doing my best to be honest about what’s happening and have been looking into this. We’ll get back to you as soon as we possibly can, I promise,”

Later during the call, Khan was asked whether fans can expect to have an answer regarding Punk’s status ahead of this Sunday’s pay-per-view. Khan stated that he’s hoping this will be the case, although he also highlighted the challenging nature of the situation.

“That is my goal. I promise, that is what I hope, that we have a resolution. I don’t expect a full resolution, but I at least expect more information by then. I’m going to keep working on it. It’s a challenging situation to say the least and not something I was hoping to be dealing with,”

Regarding the incident itself, various conflicting reports have attempted to shed light on who is to blame for the situation, although as of writing, both men are believed to be suspended by the company.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the incident, as well as Punk’s status for All Out, as soon as we hear more.
