AEW’s head honcho wants Chris Jericho to stick around.
In August, reports began to surface that Chris Jericho’s contract with All Elite Wrestling is due to expire at the end of the year, with subsequent updates suggesting that a return to WWE may be increasingly likely.
Speaking to Adam’s Apple, Tony Khan said that he would love for Chris Jericho to have his final match in AEW whenever he decides the time is right to step away from the ring.
“We love having Chris in AEW, and I would say that absolutely, I would love it if Chris’ final matches eventually — whenever Chris someday would want to hang it up — were in AEW. But I also don’t think Chris is really near that point. He’s had a great run with us. He continues to be a big part of AEW, and I love Chris. In and out of the ring.”
-Tony Khan
Chris Jericho has been absent from AEW since losing the ROH World Championship to Bandido at AEW: Dynasty in April, with widespread expectation that he could return to WWE at the Royal Rumble in January 2026.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Chris Jericho’s AEW status as soon as we hear more.
