Yoshihiro Takayama announced two more matches for his upcoming benefit show on September 7th, TAKAYAMANIA EMPIRE V. First, All Japan Pro Wrestling’s Hideki Suzuki will take on DDT’s Danshoku Dieno in a special singles match. Second, Sendai Girls ace Chihiro Hashimoto will team up with fellow SENJO wrestler Ryo Mizunami against TJPW icon Miyu Yamashita and freelancer Hiroyo Matsumoto.

These two matches have helped stack a show in which the proceeds will go directly to help aid Takayama’s ongoing health care. The former Triple Crown, IWGP, and GHC Heavyweight Champion was paralyzed from the neck down in a match in 2017. The first TAKAYAMIA EMPIRE event took place in August of 2018, and they’ve ran subsequent shows in 2019, 2024, 2025, and now in 2026.

TAKAYAMANIA EMPIRE V will also feature a six-man tag featuring Strange Love Connection’s MAO, Viento Levante, and Yukio Naya taking on paleyouth’s Daichi Satoh, Takeshi Masada, and Yuya Koroku, New Japan Pro Wrestling young lion Tatsuya Matsumoto going up against Big Japan’s exciting young wrestler Ryuma Sekimo, who was a part of an incredible tag team match from the KTDan show from July 1st, and Minoru Suzuki and El Desperado reuniting to wrestle HARASHIMA and Naomichi Marufuji.

Industry legends Kazuo Yamazaki, Kenta Kobashi, and Meiko Satomura will also make appearances alongside DDT President, and Stone Cold Steve Austin spoofer, Sanshiro Takagi.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on TAKAYAMANIA EMPIRE V and the Japanese independent wrestling scene as soon as we hear more.
