AEW are believed to be targeting long-term deals when re-signing talent.

Last night saw weeks of speculation regarding the future of RUSH finally come to an end, as the La Faccion Ingobernable leader revealed on Twitter that he’d re-signed with AEW amidst reports of WWE being interested in the former ROH World Champion.

During the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer provided an insight into the agreement, revealing that AEW made a better offer than WWE, and whilst it’s unclear as to how long RUSH has extended for, the company are believed to be pushing for multi-year deals when it comes to re-signing talent.

“They made the better offer and he re-signed. I don’t know how long the terms are, but I know AEW is trying to sign people for multi-years. He got a 1 year deal the first time because he insisted on it because he wanted to prove himself.”

Speculation had been rife, partially due to RUSH himself, that the 34-year-old could be heading to WWE to link up with his brother, Dragon Lee, however these rumours can now be put to rest.

As of writing, it’s unclear as to when RUSH will next appear on AEW television. His LFI stablemate, Andrade el Idolo currently finds himself at odds with the House of Black, and so could soon arrive on Collision to even the odds, whilst many fans are also hopeful of seeing RUSH challenge Orange Cassidy for the AEW International Championship.
