Not everyone was as thrilled as the WWE Universe to see CM Punk return at last night’s show.

Last night’s Survivor Series in Chicago, Illinois saw CM Punk make his shocking return to WWE following the conclusion of the men’s WarGames match. During his entrance, Seth Rollins appeared visually livid at the sight of Punk, whilst Drew Mclntyre is reported to have stormed out of the arena.

Fightful Select are now reporting that several talents were upset to see Punk return last night, whilst many were also excited, and much more. Additionally, talents are believed to have been pulled aside and informed of Punk’s impending return, although this didn’t prevent some names being legitimately upset, with both McIntyre and Rollins’ reactions appearing far from positive.

“As it pertains to the main event talent being upset, there are numerous talent on the roster in general upset, just as there are some excited, curious and about every emotion. Talent were pulled aside before the WarGames match and told that CM Punk would be returning at the conclusion of the show. At least one talent claimed legitimately to be upset by the return of Punk, and both Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins looked visibly angry.”

As for whether these reactions were genuine, Fightful have been unable to confirm thus far, although WWE have at least claimed them to be, for obvious reasons.

Fightful then added further insight into both Rollins and McIntyre’s reactions to the return, firstly noting that Rollins needed to be restrained by the likes of Triple H, Michael Cole, and Corey Graves whilst in pursuit of Punk backstage.

“Seth Rollins had to be restrained by Michael Cole, Corey Graves and others. Backstage, Seth Rollins was in gorilla and had to be ushered away by Triple H and Michael Cole, as he was looking for CM Punk.”

Punk is claimed to have appeared confused at the events unfolding, and it was described as an “awkward scene.”

As for McIntyre, Fightful confirmed the reports about the former WWE Champion walking out of the arena in anger, with McIntyre also reportedly confirming that his actions were in relation to CM Punk’s return.

“Drew McIntyre was said to have been visibly upset backstage, leaving the venue, slamming the locker room door and cursing as he left. When people close to McIntyre checked on him, he confirmed it was connected to the CM Punk return, and that it wasn’t part of a work, and that he was selling to the back to maintain some professionalism.”

In terms of what’s next for Punk himself, PWInsider recently reported that the controversial Chicago-native is expected to be at this Monday’s episode of RAW, and thus the WWE Universe won’t have to wait long to find out what the future has in store.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on CM Punk’s return to WWE and the subsequent reactions from talent as soon as we hear more.
