More has emerged regarding a new deal between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery.

Having signed a five-year deal in 2019, AEW’s current media rights contract with Warner Bros. Discovery is set to expire at the end of the year. As such, speculation has ramped up in recent months as to whether the company’s weekly TV will remain with WBD, and we now have an update on a new offer being made to AEW.

Per Fightful Select, it’s believed that Warner Bros. Discovery have now made an offer to All Elite Wrestling regarding a new long-term television deal, with the media company reportedly confident in the deal that they’ve proposed to AEW.

“WBD sources confirmed there was still some red tape to get through, but that another offer for a long-term television deal was made recently to All Elite Wrestling from the company that they’re very confident in.

Elaborating on this, some sources reportedly claim that AEW have been offered ‘at least double’ the value of their previous deal, although it isn’t yet clear whether this would be for the same amount of TV programming.

“Sources close to the situation said that even previous to the most recent offer, All Elite Wrestling had been offered “at least double” the amount of their previous deal. It’s also worth noting that we don’t know if “at least double,” are for the same amount of programming, or if additional elements are involved.”

It was noted that any and all possibilities have been explored between the two sides, with pay-per-views, next day streaming and ROH streaming all factors which could alter the worth of the new deal compared to the current contract. It had previously been said that any negotiations from WBD would have their Max streaming service in mind, but it isn’t yet clear whether any changes to the pay-per-view schedule would come from the deal.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on a potential deal between WBD and AEW as soon as we hear more.
