Wheeler Yuta reportedly picked up a hamstring injury in his match with Kenny Omega on AEW Dynamite this week.
The feud between the Blackpool Combat Club and The Elite has provided fans with many awesome matchups, including on this past week’s edition of AEW Dynamite which saw Kenny Omega square off with Wheeler Yuta. Despite interference from both Don Callis and Konosuke Takeshita, the Canadian star was able to secure the win in his home country after a One Winged Angel.
However, per the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Yuta is believed to have unfortunately suffered a hamstring injury during the bout with Omega. Luckily, it’s clarified that the damage didn’t amount to a full tear and, as of now, he’s still set to be part of this year’s Blood and Guts match.
“Wheeler Yuta suffered a hamstring injury in the match with Omega on 7/5. Right now the belief is that it’s not a full tear and that he will be able to return on 7/19 for Blood & Guts in Boston.”

As mentioned, Yuta’s participation in the July 19 Blood and Guts spectacle is still believed to believed to be secure. As of now, both The Elite and Blackpool Combat Club have four members entered into the match, with one spot still yet to be filled on either side. We don’t yet know will complete the lineups, though it was recently revealed that conversations had taken place between AEW and Kota Ibushi regarding the event.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the condition of Wheeler Yuta and other news regarding the upcoming Blood and Guts show as we hear more.
