This Sunday’s Forbidden Door could mark the last appearance of Will Ospreay for a while.
Last night’s edition of AEW Dynamite saw Will Ospreay reveal that he wasn’t medically cleared to compete at this Sunday’s AEWxNJPW Forbidden Door, hence requesting a Lights Out Steel Cage Match at the show.
During this in-ring promo, Ospreay heavily implied that he requires neck surgery, and PWInsider has now confirmed that these comments were legitimate, and that the AEW star is looking at going under the knife in the near future.
“For those asking about Will Ospreay’s comments about needing neck surgery on AEW Dynamite we are told by several sources that is 100% legitimate and he is absolutely looking at neck surgery in the near future.”

This Sunday at the O2 Arena in London will see Will Ospreay team with Darby Allin, Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi, and NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi to take on the Death Riders trio of Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta, The Young Bucks, and Gabe Kidd.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Will Ospreay’s injury status and potential neck surgery as soon as we hear more.
