Will Ospreay is feeling the support of the wrestling world amidst recent injury woes.
During last Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Will Ospreay alluded to needing neck surgery whilst discussing his reasoning for requesting a Lights Out match at Forbidden Door, with reports later confirming that to be the case.
In an interview with Alistair McGeorge for Metro ahead of Forbidden Door, Ospreay revealed that despite having never worked for WWE, there are people within the promotion who have reached out with advice regarding his injury.
“I’ve got people in [WWE] that I’ve never met before in my entire life, that have reached out because of this neck injury, and they have gone, “Hey, if you need a doctor, or if there’s any questions that need to be answered.” Every single one of them are super lovely. And I wish them all the best. I really do.”

At this past Sunday’s AEWxNJPW: Forbidden Door event at the O2 Arena in London, Will Ospreay, alongside Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Darby Allin defeated the Death Riders and The Young Bucks in a Lights Out Steel Cage Match to close the show.
After the match, however, the Death Riders proceeded to attack a helpless Ospreay, with the former AEW International Champion seemingly set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Will Ospreay’s injury status as soon as we hear more, and we wish him all the best on his road to recovery.
