Since Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque’s appointment as both WWE’s Head of Talent Relations and Head of Creative, the conpany have reached out to numerous previously released stars over the prospect of them making a return. Thus far, the likes of Johnny Gargano, Dakota Kai, Dexter Lumis, Mia Yim, and more have all re-emerged across both Raw and Smackdown, although it appears as though WWE aren’t yet finished with their attempts to bring back former talents to the company.
In late August, both Andrew Zarian and Fightful Select were able to confirm that WWE are interested in bringing back JONAH, formerly known in NXT as Bronson Reed, to the company. Dave Meltzer has now provided an update on WWE’s interest during the most recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, revealing that the company have indeed made an offer to the NJPW star.
“JONAH certainly has an offer from WWE. And he’s gotta make a decision. It’ll either be New Japan or WWE. He got a great push in New Japan, and it’s gonna be his call.”
-Dave Meltzer
During JONAH’s previous spell with the conpany, he reigned as the NXT North American Champion in what was his only championship reign before his release on August 6th, 2021.
Since departing the company, JONAH has competed across both NJPW and IMPACT. As Meltzer noted, it will now be up to JONAH as to whether he continues with New Japan or whether he returns to WWE to work under the new Triple H-led regime. As always, we’ll aim to provide any updates on JONAH’s future as soon as we hear more.
