Leyla Hirsch may be trying out with WWE as a referee.
In February, it was revealed that ‘Legit’ Leyla Hirsch’s All Elite Wrestling contract was imminently set to expire. Since then, the 28-year-old has taken occasional independent bookings, most recently competing on Beyond Wrestling’s June 21 show. Now, a unique opportunity appears to have opened up for the former AEW wrestler.
Per Fightful Select, it’s believed WWE have reached out to Leyla Hirsch for a tryout as a referee.
“Sources within WWE tell Fightful that they reached out to Leyla Hirch about a potential tryout with the company as a referee. We’re told that some in WWE had heard bout the communication in mid-June, but we haven’t learned if it was accepted or if the tryout has already happened.”

As of now, it’s unclear as to whether Hirsch will go down the route of refereeing under the WWE banner, but the situation is certainly one to keep an eye on in the coming weeks and months.
