The reason why Andrade was able to make a quick return to AEW has been revealed.

On September 13, it emerged that Andrade had left WWE. The news came as a surprise to many, and it was later reported that the 35-year-old had been let go due to disciplinary issues related to the wellness policy. However, fans are accustomed to WWE departures coming with a 90-day non-compete clause, so viewers were shocked when the star appeared on last night’s AEW Dynamite less than three weeks after entering free agency. Now, the reason why Andrade could return to All Elite Wrestling so soon.

Per PWInsider, it’s believed that WWE cut Andrade immediately as opposed to keeping him under a non-compete clause due to multiple wellness policy violations.

“Multiple WWE sources confirmed that Andrade was cut due to numerous wellness violations over the last year.  WWE chose to cut him as opposed to paying him another 90 days to keep him from performing elsewhere, so there was no non-compete clause.”

Andrade’s first match after his WWE departure has already been confirmed, as he’s set to compete at The Crash Lucha Libre’s show tomorrow night. Following last night’s Dynamite, it’s likely Andrade will battle Kenny Omega at AEW WrestleDream, though this remains unconfirmed for now.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Andrade’s AEW arrival as soon as we hear more.
