Could the 47th President of the United States of America be heading to Saturday Night’s Main Event?
On December 13, John Cena’s in-ring career is set to come to an end at Saturday Night’s Main Event at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. With the landmark event taking place in such close proximity to the White House, many fans have speculated whether President Donald Trump could be in attendance.
Dave Meltzer has provided an update on the matter in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, revealing that while President Trump’s attendance has not yet been confirmed, WWE are expecting several leading political figures to be present at the event.
“[WWE] expect leading political figures to be invited and attend this show. Donald Trump has not confirmed coming. He has confirmed being at the Army vs. Navy football game. The game will be at M&T Stadium in Baltimore at 3 p.m. that day, so he easily, if we wanted to, could get to the show. The creative staff was shown a presentation for the UFC show on June 14, 2026, at the White House and they were told this would be the biggest sports event in American history. Right now the belief is there will be a ton of people from the White House at the show, but Trump is undecided at the moment, but a lot of major people have already told WWE they are coming.”

Both Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Stephanie McMahon are members of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition, with Levesque currently serving as the council’s vice-chair.
On January 20, 2017, Donald Trump became the first WWE Hall of Famer to assume the office of President of the United States. With the controversial world leader now back in the White House, an appearance at a major WWE event would undoubtedly make global headlines.
Whilst John Cena’s final opponent has yet to be officially confirmed, multiple reports indicate that current plans call for GUNTHER to face the record-setting 17-time world champion at the event. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the prospect of Donald Trump appearing at WWE: Saturday Night’s Main Event as soon as we hear more.
