WWE reportedly had little interest in signing AEW’s Jack Perry.

Around three weeks ago, Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline first revealed Jack Perry was nearing the end of his AEW deal. In his latest update, coming on July 7, Alvarez maintained that the former ‘Jungle Boy’ was still yet to agree terms on a new contract. However, on last night’s Dynamite, a video aired showing Perry putting pen to paper to confirm he’s re-signed with the company. Now, an update has emerged on WWE’s interest in the former TNT Champion before he inked his new AEW deal.

According to WrestleVotes via Fightful Select, it’s believed WWE had ‘little to no internal discussion’ regarding Jack Perry, with it believed they felt as if he didn’t currently fit their landscape.

WWE had little to no internal discussion regarding the possibility of pursuing Jack Perry in the case that he entered free agency. The prevailing feeling was that he didn’t fit in WWE’s current landscape.

As an AEW original, fans of the promotion have watched the 29-year-old grow as a performer in front of their eyes. Thus far, he can reflect on reigns with the FTW, TNT, and National Championships respectively, as well as a beloved run as the AEW World Tag Team Champions as part of Jurassic Express.

Despite his contract status seemingly being up in the air before last night, Perry continued to be a regular feature on AEW’s weekly shows, most recently wrestling Zack Sabre Jr. on the Dynamite before Forbidden Door.
