The latest update has emerged regarding whether Sting will induct Lex Luger into the WWE Hall of Fame.

On April 18, WWE will hold this year’s instalment of the Hall of Fame. Among those being inducted is former two-time WCW Heavyweight Champion Lex Luger, and many fans have been calling for Sting to be the one to induct the 66-year-old due to their storied history together as both tag team partners and rivals. However, due to his AEW affiliation, an agreement would need to be made between Tony Khan and WWE to allow Sting to appear on the show, and the latest indication suggests this is unlikely to happen.

Per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s believed that neither WWE nor Sting have inquired with Tony Khan about the upcoming Hall of Fame ceremony.

“Regarding Sting at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony for Lex Luger, Luger claims that he asked WWE for Sting and DDP and never heard back. As best we can tell, neither Sting nor WWE has contacted Tony Khan, who would have to approve it. WWE also didn’t approve it to Luger.”

The report notes that this was the case as of nine days ago, although the situation could still change before next Friday. Of course, Sting could still attend the induction ceremony, although, if an agreement isn’t working out between the two companies, ‘The Icon’ couldn’t appear on camera at the event.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Lex Luger’s Hall of Fame induction as soon as we hear more.
