The latest reported details on Seth Rollins’ status.

At this past weekend’s Saturday Night’s Main Event, Seth Rollins’ clash with LA Knight was brought to an abrupt end when ‘The Visionary’ tweaked his knee during the match. With the 39-year-old being one of RAW’s top stars, the injury appeared devastating to WWE’s current plans, however, given Rollins is the current Mr. Money In The Bank, many raised their eyebrows and suggested that this could be a way to keep him out of the spotlight for a surprise cash-in. Now, an update has emerged on the plans heading into Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s believed that WWE planned to do an injury angle with Rollins at last weekend’s show, though people backstage were told it was real.

“We do know now from multiple people that the plan was to do an injury angle on this show and have Rollins leave and then he would shockingly return at SummerSlam in the Gunther vs. CM Punk match and cash the briefcase in and win the title with the idea that he and Paul Heyman outsmarted everyone. Backstage, everyone was told and reacted like Rollins was hurt and that the match was cut short. The ones who knew were very small in number. Everyone was under the impression that it was real. It was immediately reported everywhere as if it was real.

The story surrounding Rollins’ status remains one of the most interesting in recent times, as many remain unsure as to its legitimacy. Regardless, the prevailing belief is that Seth’s injury is serious and will keep him out of action for an extended period of time.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Seth Rollins’ injury status as soon as we hear more.
