The WWE PC reportedly has enough talent in development, limiting new signings from TNA and AEW.

With WWE’s ID and NIL programmes bringing a growing number of prospects under the WWE banner, the Performance Center is understandably packed with talent hoping to progress to NXT and eventually the main roster. While the company still looks to make the occasional high-profile signing from the likes of AEW, TNA Wrestling, NJPW, and beyond, it appears the company are content with the talent they have within their own system.

Dave Meltzer reports in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE have informed talent from TNA and AEW that they are not currently looking to add to their roster, citing the number of developmental talents ready to move up the ladder.

“We were told that of late talent from both TNA and AEW who have called WWE have been told that they aren’t looking at hiring new people. The idea is that they have so many in developmental, many of whom are ready that they don’t need new people. This is not an absolute, and obviously guys the level of Jericho or Slater wouldn’t necessarily fall into that category.”

Chris Jericho is reportedly set to see his AEW contract expire at the end of 2025, with expectations that he will return to WWE in early 2026. With speculation mounting, Jericho recently revealed that he’s still figuring out his next move. You can read more about that here.

Leon Slater, meanwhile, is currently contracted to TNA Wrestling. He has, however, made numerous WWE appearances in 2025, thanks to the partnership between the two promotions. Slater teamed with Je’Von Evans in a losing effort against AJ Styles and Dragon Lee at Saturday Night’s Main Event and is set to challenge NXT Champion Oba Femi at New Year’s Evil.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on WWE’s stance on bringing in new talent as soon as we hear more.
