The Women’s Intercontinental and United States Championships won’t be in WWE 2K25 on launch day.
With the full release of WWE 2K25 just three weeks away, the official WWE Games X account recently posted an screenshot of Chelsea Green making her entrance in the game. However, fans quickly noticed that the current Women’s United States Champion was without her title, raising questions about whether the newly-introduced championship will be in the game.
Speaking with JustBryan, WWE 2K developer Bryan Williams confirmed that both the Women’s Intercontinental and Women’s United States Championships will be missing from the game at first launch, with the belts likely to be patched in a later update.
“They will not, those titles will not be in the game come, the release of 2K25. Now, not to upset anybody, but the fact of the matter is that, when those titles were introduced, they were introduced way late in our development cycle, I want to say that they made the announcement of these titles in November of last year. Then they had the tournament to crown the first champion of each. So we were not able to add them into the game yet. There’s a lot of different factors for that, outside of the assets that we need for title matches, the title graphic that comes up. There’s also other ramifications that we’ve got to accommodate for this and My GM, we’ve got to accommodate for these titles in universe. So we didn’t want to just slap this thing in are these titles in without having the support in the modes that need them the most. So I say all that to then say this, we are having discussions, right now to see if we could potentially add these titles post launch as again, another update. One of our title updates where, the women’s U.S. and IC titles can be added into the game because we hear all the chatter. Trust us, you know, had this had these been introduced maybe even four months earlier, it would have been in for sure. It’s just a matter of our schedule versus how the WWE operates. But we hear you guys and we’re going to do everything we can to see if we can support them.”

The Women’s United States Championship was first won on December 14, while Lyra Valkyria didn’t get her hands on the Women’s Intercontinental Championship until January 13.
Those with the standard edition of WWE 2K25 will be able to play the game on March 14, while players who buy the Bloodline or Deadman versions will be able to access 2K25 one week earlier on March 7.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on WWE 2K25 as soon as we hear more.
