WrestleMania Saturday will reportedly centre around four ‘long’ matches.
Earlier this week, WWE revealed which WrestleMania 40 matches will fall on each night of the show. Here, we found out that Bayley’s opportunity at the WWE Women’s Championship will fall on the second night, as well as the United States Title triple threat and the two top title defence from Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, leaving WrestleMania Saturday to showcase Intercontinental Title, Women’s World Championship and The Rock’s first WWE match in eight years.
To provide more detail on the structure of each night, Dave Meltzer has written in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that night one will focus on four long matches, as Rhea Ripley vs Becky Lynch opens the show, followed by the tag team title ladder match, Sami Zayn vs GUNTHER and finally The Rock & Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes, which is expected to go long with ‘bells and whistles’.
“The plan was to do four long matches on night one, starting with the Rhea Ripley vs. Becky Lynch opener, as well as the ladder match for the tag titles, the semifinal of Gunther vs. Sami Zayn and of course the tag match, which is expected to be filled with bells and whistles with a long story.”
-Dave Meltzer
