It’s possible that we could see the return of The New Day podcast,
Big E, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston and three of the most charismatic men in WWE history, and, as The New Day, they have been a staple of the company’s tag team division for almost a decade. In 2019, the loveable trio launched a podcast called ‘Feel The Power’ which lasted for two years before episodes were stopped in 2021.
Now, while appearing on WWE’s German Instagram page Die Woche, Woods revealed that he misses The New Day podcast and that there’s been talks to possibly bring it back.
“I miss it too, I miss it too (New Day podcast). There are some talks — we’ve been talking about possibly bringing it back. I don’t wanna get anybody’s hopes up just in case. But, life got very busy for the three of us. We got families and a lot of stuff that we do outside of WWE as well but then also just WWE life is just very busy. The schedule is extremely demanding so we had to put it on that backburner for a while, while we were focusing on some other things but there’s a chance, there’s a chance that it might come back.”

Of course, outside the ring, Woods is known for his UpUpDownDown gaming channel. Later in the interview, he noted some names that they almost went with for the brand.
“UpUpDownDown, hmm, let’s see. There were a lot of names on the table. It was almost named ‘Joy Shtick’. That was one that I liked the most but we had a couple of people, like three or four people who were going through the names and they decided that was the best name. That was my second choice but I’m really glad that it won out and it was the first because… it’s just got a lot of life man. It’s what? Eight years that we’ve been doing this and being able to show this side of the performers to everybody that you may not have seen prior, and one thing that I realized after years of doing it is that, yes, I wanna play video games with my buddies. Yes, I wanna have a good time and try to jump into a new lane of entertainment that WWE could definitely take the dive into. I was figuring I’d be the guinea pig. But, looking back at stuff we’ve done over the years, it’s really cool to be able to go back and watch all of us interact in the way that we genuinely interact as friends and yes, we are these larger than life personas when we are on Raw, we’re on SmackDown, we’re on the live events and the PLE’s and all that. But at the end of the day, it’s nice to be able to shed all that and just relax and enjoy life just like everybody else does so, being able to have video representation of that with people who either aren’t with us anymore or moved to different places, don’t work here anymore, it’s an archive for history and I know that in 20, 30 years if YouTube is still bumping around which I assume it will be, it’ll be really awesome to go back and see all those interactions and just how great everybody is.”

As a trio, The New Day are as iconic as it gets and have held eight main roster tag team titles in WWE. A lot has changed for the group since 2021, and, should they decide to bring back the podcast, they will have a lot to reflect on such as Big E’s neck injury sustained in early 2022.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on The New Day podcast coming back as soon as we hear more.
