Yota Tsuji, Zack Sabre Jr. & More To Compete At CMLL x NJPW Lucha Kingdom 2026

CMLL has announced several wrestlers who will compete at the CMLL Lucha Kingdom event at Arena México on Monday, November 16. The event will feature talent from its home roster alongside wrestlers from New Japan Pro-Wrestling and STARDOM.

The only STARDOM wrestler announced to appear so far is current IWGP Women’s Champion Syuri. She has been largely absent from her home promotion in recent weeks due to an acting commitment. Joining her on the trip will be DOUKI, El Desperado, Francesco Akira, KUSHIDA, Master Wato, SHO, Shota Umino, Taiji Ishimori, YOH, Yota Tsuji, and Zack Sabre Jr. from NJPW.

Beyond the IWGP Women’s Championship, further titles that could be on the line at the show include Yota Tsuji’s IWGP Heavyweight Championship. However, it remains to be seen whether Hirooki Goto or G1 Climax 36 winner Ryohei Oiwa will dethrone the champion before then or whether Tsuji would be willing to defend the title outside of Japan.

El Desperado and CMLL’s Místico currently reign as the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions, while many expect Shota Umino to circle back to IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion Gabe Kidd before the end of the year. Arena México could therefore provide the perfect opportunity for a title defence should Kidd still hold the championship when November 16 rolls around.

Finally, YOH is the reigning IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion. He will defend the title against Unbound Co.’s Taiji Ishimori at NJPW BATTLE LINE HOKKAIDO Road to DESTRUCTION on September 23, though a title change would still allow the championship to make its way to Mexico two months later.

The event will take place a few weeks after NJPW holds its annual Super Junior Tag League, which is expected to feature most of the names mentioned above, with the exceptions of Shota Umino, Yota Tsuji, and Zack Sabre Jr. Those three will instead be preparing for the World Tag League, which is set to begin in December.
