Two Teams Dominate The Goddess Of STARDOM Tag League, Preview For Gold Rush & Historic X-Over | Weekly Joshi Guide

STARDOM had a rather quiet week before the big weekend this week. Two Goddess Tag League days happened and it had two clear winners. The first one was Utami Hayashishita & Saya Kamitani. The Aphrodite Duo won three matches on the two shows. First, they beat the former Goddesses Of STARDOM Tag Champs Momo Watanabe & Starlight Kid and on the second show, they defeated Mai Sakurai & Lady C first and then Mayu Iwatani and Momo Kohgo later the night. With that, they are now on a 4-0 record and undefeated on the top of their block. The other big winner is the team of Ruaka and Natsuko Tora. This looks shocking on paper, especially after Tora just returned from injury and them losing the first match to Mina & SAKI by DQ. This week they defeated AZM & Miyu Amasaki and the fan favorites to win the tournament, Maika & Himeka. They sit on the top of the Blue Stars Block with a 4-1 record heading into the final weeks of the tournament.

On November 19th STARDOM will hold the Gold Rush 2022 PPV which features a Moneyball Scramble Tournament where the winning team will win get a Moneyball and can spend it on whatever they want. Last year the trio of Maika, Himeka and Natsupoi won the tournament. This year, DDM is represented by Giulia & Thekla & Mai Sakurai. They will face the Cosmic Angels trio of Natsupoi, Tam Nakano and Waka Tsukiyama in the first round. The winner will face the winner of Tomoka Inaba, MIRAI and Ami Sourei from God’s Eye and the runner-up of last year’s tournament Mayu Iwatani, Koguma and Hazuki. The High-Speed Bombgirl AZM will defend her High-Speed Title against Osaka’s own Momoka Hanazono, who is one of the most interesting Joshis to watch. AZM will try to continue her legendary High-Speed Title reign, while the underdog Momoka will try to win the first major title of her young career.

After KAIRI got covid in August and couldn’t compete, the Wonder Of STARDOM Title Match against Saya Kamitani will finally happen on Saturday. It is one of the most anticipated matches of the STARDOM year and that is with a reason. KAIRI is always special to watch, while Saya is on the run of her lifetime. Everything can happen here. Another big Match between Syuri and Utami Hayashishita will happen for the World Of Stardom Title. They are facing each other for the 7th time and the 3rd time for the top prize of STARDOM. The quality will be as awesome as always, which is totally expected from both of them. The winner of this match will face Giulia in the main event of the Sumo Hall show.

The day after, the first ever NJPWxSTARDOM joint show called “Historic X-over” will happen in the Ariake Arena. It is a big show for STARDOM and together they put on a great card. Three Mix Tag Team Matches will happen on the show with the first one being Taichi & Yoshinobu Kanemaru from Suzuki-gun teaming up with Tam Nakano & Natsupoi against El Desperado & DOUKI who are also in Suzuki-gun and Momo Watanabe and Starlight Kid. An interesting Mix Tag with cool combinations. The second one is the Ace Hiroshi Tanahashi teaming up with the Red Queen of STARDOM Utami Hayashishita against the duo of Hirooki Goto and the Empress of STARDOM Maika. The latter already teased throwing around Tanahashi which would be an awesome moment.

The last mix tag is the former UFC Fighter Syuri & Tom Lawlor teaming up against Giulia and Zack Sabre Jr. By then it will be decided if Giulia faces Syuri at Queendom which makes this match a possible preview Match for the upcoming World Of STARDOM Title Match. In the Main Event of the show, KAIRI and Mayu Iwatani will face off for the newly introduced IWGP Women’s Title. Both want the belt and represent STARDOM all around the globe. It is likely the biggest Match STARDOM has ever booked and it will totally deliver.
