With numerous appearances in promotions such as; Tokyo Joshi Pro, GCW, Prestige Wrestling, DDT, and All Elite Wrestling, it’s safe to say 2022 has been quite an active year for the cutest pro wrestler in the world.

Maki Itoh would make a splash within AEW during her appearances in the Women’s World Title Eliminator Tournament, at AEW Revolution 2021, and the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.

Maki Itoh was a recent guest of Steve Fall of WrestlingNewsCo where she was quizzed if she would jump at an offer from WWE due to her renowned status as of late.

“No, nothing. The reason she became this popular is thanks to AEW. Whatever happens, even if WWE gives her a cheeky offer from nowhere, she would not accept it and she would stay right beside AEW all the way,”

Later during their conversation, the hard-headed Maki was asked about her intentions for the upcoming year of 2023. Itoh revealed that she still has championship aspirations in Japan, although she’s also hoping for an increasing TV presence in America for the new year.

“In Japan, she wants to get a title belt, obviously. She feels maybe a tag team title belt would be really nice, just about now. Where for America, she wants to go back to being on AEW television again. As you know, there is only so much time available on American TV and you can’t really leave much of an impact due to how much time you get to be on TV. She definitely wants to leave a big enough impact to where everyone will remember the name of Maki Itoh.”

Maki Itoh last appeared in AEW during the November 28th episode of AEW Dark, working alongside Emi Sakura in a tag match against Nyla Rose and Marina Shafir.

Maki maintains a busy schedule within TJPW and made her official GCW return in November in a bout facing Masha Slamovich.
