It’s Wednesday, you know what that means. Winter is Coming! Dynamite is stacked with Continental Classic matchups from the gold and blue league. Jon Moxley and Swerve Strickland, who are both undefeated in the tournament, will be facing each other in the main event. Andrade El Idolo and Brody King from the blue league will also go toe-to-toe. In normal singles action, Roderick Strong is in a rare outing on Dynamite as he faces Hangman Adam Page.

Samoa Joe, Hangman Page, & Roderick Strong In-Ring Promo

Accusations were flying as Samoa Joe was insinuating that Hangman Page was the culprit who attacked MJF last week. Page didn’t take it lightly and was attempting to pick a fight with Joe. Roderick Strong would come out and accuse MJF of doing this to himself. During the promo, Strong would push Page which would prompt Page to fight back, leading to the opener of the night.

Hangman Page defeats Roderick Strong

Strong has made strides with his character work since joining AEW earlier this year. However, that shouldn’t come at the cost of his wrestling. Strong hasn’t wrestled too much in the past few months, and it’s time to correct that. The Messiah of the Backbreaker had a good showing with Page. Page secured the victory wit the dead-eye.

Andrade El Idolo defeats Brody King

For the first time ever, blue league action is on Dynamite, and the match didn’t disappoint. El Idolo and King had a hard-hitting affair, going chop for chop and big power move after big power move. Multiple times, King tried to lariat Idolo’s head off. Idolo returned the favor with a thunderous back elbow that knocked King right out. Idolo drove King’s head into the exposed metal rod of the turnbuckle and followed up with the DDT to get the victory and go top of the blue league.

The Von Erichs backstage interview

Backstage with Renee Paquette, Kevin Von Erich with his two sons were being asked about their experience in AEW. Orange Cassidy with Trent and Danhausen interrupted. Cassidy asked for the Von Erichs to team with him on Rampage, they accepted.

The Golden Jets In-Ring Promo

Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho made their way to the ring and talked about the attacks on them from Ricky Starks and Big Bill. The tag champs then came out and attempted to manipulate Omega into questioning Jericho’s loyalties. The two teams proceeded to take jabs at each other, with most of them not landing. This segment seemed to have run long, and everyone involved was tripping over their words. Luckily, these teams have a few more weeks to salvage something from this angle before the Worlds End pay-per-view where the tag titles will be on the line.

Riho defeats Ruby Soho

Riho is a star and the AEW women’s division benefits whenever she’s around. Toni Storm joined the commentary team with multiple cuts to her on commentary making absurd faces as the camera would go black and white. RIho fought like a valiant babyface and picked up the victory against Soho. If Riho is next in line for the Women’s title, then the fans are up for a treat as she’ll surely have a fantastic match with Toni Storm.

Wardlow Vignette

Wardlow’s path of destruction is going to continue, with the final boss being his arch-nemesis and former mentor, MJF.

Jon Moxley & Swerve Strickland Hype Package

Moxley and Strickland called each other out on a hype package leading to the main event. Both played up on their history of being fearless death match wrestlers that will do anything to win.

Jay White defeats Mark Briscoe

Similar to earlier in the night, Briscoe is already eliminated but could ruin White’s chances with a victory. Briscoe had multiple near falls, really pushing White to the edge. However, a second froggy bow from Briscoe was blocked by White which led to a blade runner for the victory. The victory now brings Jay White’s point total to 9 points and mathematically eliminates Rush.

Jon Moxley defeats Swerve Strickland

This match had a big fight feel as both wrestlers enter the match undefeated in the tournament. Mind games were played early on as Moxley kissed Strickland on the nose as they were in the corner. Strickland returned the kiss moments later. The crowd were split down the middle for both men which is a testament to Strickland’s rise to fame in the last few months. Strickland continued with the mind-games with a flurry of stomps on the face followed this up with hammer and anvil elbows. Desperation soon followed as Moxley was hoping to get a count-out victory, but Strickland survived at the last second. As he was entering the ring, Moxley hit him with a stomp, but Strickland kicked out. As the match continued, Strickland was very much playing the role of the babyface with the crowd firmly behind him. A Swerve Stomp wasn’t enough to get the job done, right after Moxley was able to roll Strickland up and hold onto the tights for the stolen victory. What a great match, and it’s surely not over between these two in the ring.

Masked Men Attack Hangman Page

After the main event, the camera quickly cut to outside the arena. The devil’s masked men were shown attacking Hangman Page. The Devil got out of a car before the masked men slammed Page onto the windshield, confirming that Page is not the man behind the devil mask as the show went off the air.
