Cody Rhodes Reportedly Won’t Vacate Undisputed WWE Championship After Injury At WrestleMania 42

Cody Rhodes will reportedly remain the Undisputed WWE Champion following his injury.
The main event of WrestleMania 42 night one saw Cody Rhodes retain his Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton. However, bruising and swelling during the match, it was announced on the post-show that ‘The American Nightmare’ suffered an eye injury, leaving him not medically cleared as of writing. With many wondering how this may affect future plans, the current word appears to be that Rhodes’ title reign is set to remain in tact.
According to an update from Bodyslam, it’s believed Cody Rhodes isn’t currently expected to vacate the Undisputed WWE Championship as a result of his injury.
“Cody Rhodes is not expected to have to relinquish the Undisputed WWE Championship as of right now. WWE will continue to monitor the health of Rhodes in the coming days ahead of SmackDown.”

For now, little is known about the severity of Rhodes injury. While he’s expected to remain champion, it’s unclear whether he’s set to spend significant time on the sidelines as a result of the damage to his eye sustained during the match with Randy Orton.
Should the star have to take him to heal, the company can likely link his absence to taking Orton’s punt kick in the post-match beatdown on Saturday night.
