Will Ospreay Discusses What It Would Be Like To Win The AEW World Championship At All In

Will Ospreay discusses what it would be like to win the AEW World Championship at All In.
On the April 15 edition of Dynamite, Darby Allin shocked the world by defeating MJF for the AEW World Championship. However, with All In returning to Wembley Stadium later in the year, many fans are of the opinion that Will Ospreay will be in the title picture this August regardless of who holds the gold at the time. Now, ‘The Aerial Assassin’ has allowed himself to imagine what it would be like if he had a world championship match with Allin at All In.
Speaking with The Sportster, Ospreay said winning the AEW World Championship at Wembley would be something he could look back on with immense pride.
“I know Darby [Allin] doesn’t fear anything in this world, but I think nothing would scare him more than seeing however many British people chanting horrible things at him whilst I’m kicking the ever loving sh*t out of him. I love Darby and that moment would be… I couldn’t put it into words because years ago when they’d first done that Wembley show, it didn’t seem like it was real. It didn’t seem like it was possible to especially fill it at the time. And I wasn’t even a part of the company back then, so the fact that I could never imagine what Wembley Stadium would look like and now I’ve been in there, and I’ve felt winning a championship in that venue, to win the most coveted prize in all of pro wrestling… I think honestly, it would just be one of those moments where I finally did something cool in my life that I can actually look back on and be proud about.”

At present, Ospreay’s path to championship contention remains uncertain. While he hasn’t long returned from the neck surgery which took him out of the ring for around six months, his first pay-per-view match back saw him lose to Jon Moxley in a Continental Championship match. From here, the Brit will need to rebuild momentum before thinking about going after Allin’s title, though the Owen Hart Tournament remains the clearest way to gold at Wembley.
As for the current champion, Allin is wasting absolutely no time in trying to cement his position at the top. Tonight on Dynamite, the 33-year-old will put his title on the line against ‘The Psycho Killer’ Tommaso Ciampa.
Speaking of Darby’s title win, his mentor Sting recently expressed his pride in the new champion. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Will Ospreay as soon as we hear more.
